Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and protection of information of users of the Click VPN service (the mobile app and https://click-vpn.com/, the “Service”). The app creates an encrypted VPN tunnel from the device to our server; we do not read the contents of sessions. Account identifiers and interaction history are collected. Data is used to contact the user and for analysis. Information is disclosed to third parties only where required by law or with the user’s consent. Data is stored for as long as needed and protected with reasonable measures. The user is responsible for risks related to transmitting data. The operator may change this Policy; continued use of the Service means acceptance of the new version.
1. General
1.1. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs how information that the User provides when using the Service is processed and protected.
1.2. By using the Service, the User accepts this Policy. If the User does not agree, they must stop using the Service.
1.3. Support: click.vpn.support@proton.me.
2. Information collected
2.1. The Service may collect:
- account identifiers (app install identifier, public code, display name);
- contacts the User entered in the cabinet (email and Telegram username) — for support and payment-related contact; they are not shown to friends and are not required for the VPN;
- interaction history (subscription status; records of payments on the website without card details);
- on the unpaid plan the app shows Unity Ads (fullscreen interstitial); this may use the Advertising ID.
2.2. The Service does not require passports, identity documents, photos, or other personal data beyond what is needed to operate.
2.3. The operator does not collect or store bank card details. Payments on the website are processed by Platega. The mobile app does not accept payments.
2.1. VPN technology and traffic
2.1.1. Click VPN is a mobile app that creates an encrypted VPN tunnel between the user’s device and our servers. The user’s internet traffic goes through this tunnel and then to the internet through our servers.
2.1.2. We do not read the contents of user traffic, and we do not log or analyse visited sites, messages, files, or other personal information. Encryption protects data from the device to our server.
2.1.3. To keep the network working well we collect technical metrics: connection quality, internet speed, whether connect attempts succeed, and network type (Wi-Fi / mobile). These are used to pick better routes automatically and to improve the service.
2.1.4. Logs and telemetry may include fragments of system logs for diagnosing errors. Personal data in logs is masked or removed automatically.
3. Use of information
3.1. The Service may use the information only to:
- contact the User (including notices and support);
- analyse and improve the Service.
3.1. Android permissions
3.1.1. The app uses these Android permissions:
- INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE — VPN tunnel and API access.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE — a persistent notification while VPN is on. Without it Android would stop the tunnel in the background.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to show that notification on Android 13+.
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — at the user’s request, so battery saver does not drop the tunnel. The in-app reminder can be dismissed.
- AD_ID — Advertising ID only for Unity Ads on the unpaid plan.
3.1.2. The app does not use camera, the list of installed apps, or start-on-boot (CAMERA, QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED are not present).
3.1.3. Connection-quality metrics (speed, connect success, network type, and anonymized attempt reports used for route selection) are always collected — the smart path plan depends on them. Separately, on first launch and in Settings, you can allow or deny uploading detailed app logs (app.log tails) for diagnostics.
3.1. Android permissions
3.1.1. The app uses these Android permissions:
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — so Android battery saving does not interrupt the VPN. The tunnel must stay up in the background.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE — to show a persistent VPN status notification, as Android requires for VPN apps.
- INTERNET — to create the VPN tunnel and send internet traffic.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to detect Wi-Fi vs mobile and switch routes.
3.1.2. Permissions are used only for VPN features and do not collect extra personal data.
4. Disclosure to third parties
4.1. The operator does not disclose the data to third parties except:
- where required by law;
- where the User has consented.
5. Storage and protection
5.1. Data is stored for as long as needed for the purposes of processing.
6. Disclaimer
6.1. The User understands that transmitting information over the internet always involves risk.
6.2. The operator is not liable for loss, theft, or disclosure of data caused by third parties or by the User.
7. Changes
7.1. The operator may change this Policy without prior notice.
7.2. The current version is published at https://click-vpn.com/privacy-en. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the new Policy. The Russian text at /privacy is the primary version.
8. Account deletion
8.1. The User may request deletion of the account and related data in the app (Settings) or at click-vpn.com/account/delete. The short UID shown in Settings is not enough: deletion needs the device code, which exists only in the app on that phone. The app fills it in and does not show it on screen.
8.2. Deletion removes the name, contacts, avatar, public code, VPN binding, who invited the User, referral balance, plan, orders, and connection history tied to the account (network address, operator, session times).
8.3. To avoid issuing the trial again on the same device, we keep the device identifier, the account creation date, and the date until which trial or paid access was already granted. Aggregated connection-quality statistics that are not tied to an account are not deleted: they contain no data of this User.
8.4. If the same app contacts the Service again, access is created again, without a new trial.
9. Unity Ads
9.1. In ad mode the app shows Unity Ads (fullscreen interstitial) before connecting to the VPN. Ads are shown when the plan has expired or is in ad mode.
9.2. Ads fund the ad-supported mode. After a view the user gets 1 hour of VPN access.
9.3. To show ads we may use the Android Advertising ID. We use it only for Unity Ads. The user can reset it in Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
9.4. Unity Ads is a third-party service. Unity’s privacy policy is on the Unity Technologies website.
9.5. Ads do not block the core app. The user can still use the VPN, but in ad mode they must watch ads from time to time.
